Folk Customs of Old Beijing

On the 1st of February 2019 Tallinn Central Library hosted a delegation from the Capital Library of China.

Among the distinguised guests were Pang Wei (Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism), Yang Lianxia (Sector Chief of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism), Li Linlin (Manager of the Beijing Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center), Xiao Weiping (Acting Director of the Capital Library), Shi Lijun (Vice Chief of the Capital Library), Wang Danfeng (Vice Director of the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchanges Center), Di Tianyao (Project Manager of the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchanges Center) and Xu Haozhe (Journalist of the Beijing Daily Group).

The purpose of the meeting was to start a relationship of cooperation between the two libraries and to increase mutual cultural knowledge, increase literary exchanges and to share best practices.

The first cooperation venture is a digital exhibition, which introduces the viewer to the Folk Customs of old Bejing.
