Young-adult reading challenge 2020

From July 1st to december 31st 2020 we invite all the 13-26 year-olds to participate in Tallinn Central Library’s young adult reading challenge. To participate just read a book and give necessary feedback on it.

You have three different options to do that:
*Public post about the book on social media using #TlnKrNoortekaVäljakutse
*Fill in a poll online
*Fill in a poll in the library

Instead of 5 books you can choose to watch a movie, listen to a music record or play a video game instead.

Challenges: 

  • A book with dark covers (example)
  • A book from fantasy or science fiction genre (example)
  • A book that is authors debut in young adult literature (example)
  • A book published by Pikoprint (example)
  • A book that has been the nominee of Goodreads Choice Awards (example)
  • A book from an author who is neither from Estonia nor USA (example)
  • A book where they commit or solve a crime (example)
  • A book where at least one character has a hobby (example)
  • A book that you read as an e-book (example)
  • A book that makes you happy (example)

As the challenge is online based you can participate even if you don’t visit the library often. To participate you have to be registered as Tallinn Central Library’s reader. E-books and audiobooks can be lent from our e-libraries ELLU and OverDrive.

Pikoprint and Photopoint support the readers with fantastic prizes.
First winner will be drawn at September 5th. Everyone who has participated by then will be eligible to win. The prize is the “Red Queen” series in estonian from Pikoprint.
