Naxos Music Libraries

Tallinn Central Library patrons may now use the English-language Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz databases.

What is Naxos?

Naxos Music Group is a Hong Kong-based company, which includes Naxos Records (a record label for classical music), and different databases that enable streaming music and contain information on music and music history. The catalogue boasts over 150 000 CD-s and 2 million individual tracks.

What can you do in Naxos Music Library?

The Naxos databases provide a comprehensive selection of different styles, genres, performers, and eras of music. Classical music, jazz, blues, rock, and world music are included.

For example, users can:

  • Listen to songs/works from thematic categories
  • Create personal playlists
  • Use the Naxos Dictionary of Music: a glossary of composers, music terms, and musical instruments

The databases can be used free of charge with a valid Tallinn Central Library card by patrons who do not have any previous unpaid fees.

Internet-based music databases can be used:

  • In Tallinn Central Library’s Music Department (Estonia pst 8),
